Pulled wheel off today on Farmall C took 4bolt outer flange cover off noticed a slight groove is there anything I can do to axel to help seal ride better that seal only drives in so far in the Flange Thanks for any help

A Speedi Sleeve will work if you can find one the correct size. I just did a C rear axle that was grooved real bad. It was a little tough installing the sleeve over a 18" long axle. I found a piece of exhaust tube that was just the right size to use as in installation tool. Speedi Sleeves are expensive I think I spent $45 for the one I used. You can also see if you can find a double lip seal. A double lip seal will have two sealing lips that are a little off set from a single lip seal. Good Luck

I know that the Farmall C has a seal next to the inner axle bearing. That is the one that stops the oil from leaking out. The outer seal is just a dust seal. I have not pulled up the parts list for the Super C tractor. Fell free to correct me if I'm wrong.

If the shaft is grooved enough to cause a seal to leak, what you can do is take the part number of the seal and cross reference it here http://www.kakapart.com/ and find a direct cross reference that's a bit thinner. That will allow the seal lip to ride on the shaft in a different position when driven in. Saves the price of a wear sleeve.

If the groove is slight, the correct seal should exert enough pressure for it not to leak
