Rear axel seal

Hey guys have a Farmall C rear axel seals are leaking I took off rear pro house ing I see the hole to put my hand in to take out bull gear concern will bull drop if so how do I get it back up to install bolts with no room to work Thanks

Bull gear won?t drop. The bolts just hold the plate that keeps the gear on the axle. The axle will hold it up, you can wedge it up with a bar or something when you put the axle back in. The axle and housing are pretty heavy, you should eat your Wheaties, or get a gorilla to help you. You can also use a hoist of some kind, or b lock the assembly up on some cribbing.
