IH 350 Trans oil?

Just got this IH 350 Utility delivered today.

I ORDERED THE MANUAL TONIGHT!!!

The transmission oil is nasty to say the least, water contaminated and foamy. I want to change it tomorrow. Does this use gear oil or Hy-Tran? How much?

Hytran. I think 8 gallons is enough for the trans and hydraulics. (different systems) Drain from 3 (I think) plugs Jim

Thanks. I thought it was the same as my 330, but not sure.

PTO smelled like 90w, and I knew that wasn't right, stuff I drained looked like clean Hy-Tran, so I suspect it had already been changed at least once.

JD Higuard is so close to Hytran that they are compatible and interchangeable to the best of my knowledge. I could not figure where the JD topic came from? Jim

I have the same issue on my 560. Foamy hyd oil, and not flowing freely through system. I took the filter cover off, very little oil came out. Is there a way to flush the system? And what would your use as the flush? Thanks.

You can and i have used Diesel fuel once you have let it drip dry for a day or so with ALL the Bottom plus pulled . Get a couple filters and install a new filter fill with diesel and take it for a SHORT DIVE in like forth gear to get the diesel splashed all around , then pull the plugs and let it driop dry , refill with new oil and anew filter . Never let it set out in the rain and if you have weather that runs from HOT TO Freezing cold and you do not use the tractor much and it sets over winter before you start the tractor in the spring then just lightly crack the drain plugs before start up and let them drip as the water will settle out if not run and drip out the plugs. Once the water stops dripping out the tighten up the plugs and your good to go. BUT if you start the tractor and the water gets mixed back into the oil your done for .

Diesel? Interesting. What do you do about the hydraulic lines? do you take them loose and drain them too? And about how many bottom drain plugs are there? Thanks.
