Intedrnational 454 shifter issues

Hello, a while back I posted about an issue concerning my forward/reverse shift lever broke. I have installed a new shift lever and now I have put things back together. Now, I have another issue. I think my shifter (external) is out of time. When I put the new shift lever in transmission I moved to forward gear to be able to have better access to the nut. I went in from the top of transmission. (But, the shift lever broke in reverse initially). Now, I can't get it to shift into low range or reverse. I unhooked the shifter handle and moved the shift lever out of forward to reverse without using the handle but it is still in high range I believe. I haven't even put the hydraulic fluid back in yet. I am not going to start tractor until I know it is shifting correctly. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The new shift lever has been installed. My issue is not with the shift lever. It is concerning the shifter itself. As in the handle. I think I have figured out what happened.

As stated before. The shift lever installation was not a problem. That job was completed a couple of weeks ago. The was the gear shift handle. The problem was back beside the seat under the cover. When you would try to shift everything wasn't engaging correctly. I found the problem and everything is working as it should now.
