looks like the woodruff key wore a wider groove in the key way, or is that supposed to be that way? any suggestions on a repair or replace?

looks like key is too short for the job, that is worn out groove. is that a square key ? as might try longer one but its basically machine shop work to fix it.

only a woodruff key will work, i can take it to a machine shop and have them put a new key way slot on the opposite side of the old one.

Could take a same width key only bigger, and file it down to fit with the extra length. To fill in the longer section of the original keyway.
