Backed the worm out of the steering box on my 75 cub, now of course it won't go back in.Any tricks i'm missing?

There is a thrust bearing (actually a bushing) on the lower end of the shaft. If you get it about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way in but no more, that bearing has probably slipped out of place. Stick it on the shaft using a dab of grease. Then put the shaft in carefully so you don't knock the bearing off the shaft.
