farmall cub sickle mower

hooked up the sickle bar mower to my cub tonight
however, the tractor pto pulley and mower pto pulley do not line up... tractor being short about an inch
not sure if... wrong pulley or something bigger.
as it sits now, have a 10spline ad adaptor to a 540pto to a pulley.... with a cotter pin holding in place, not allowing for any adjustment
belt does come off if being ran

any manuals/ideas as to what may be my issue?
 
I believe the PTO mounted drive pulley for a Farmall CUB C-22 mower is CASEIH part number 451356R2 and is 4" or so in diameter.
The part number for the sickle bar mower for the SA thru 140 with standard 540 PTO is 45599R1 and is approx. 7 1/4 " in diameter.
Since the CUB PTO turns at engine speed (approx. 1000 RPM) and a standard PTO is around 540 RPM you are turning the belt way to fast if your pulley diameter is 7 1/4".
You can GOOGLE the 451356R2 pulley and see how the offset compares to your pulley setup.
 
the pulley , that mounts on the tractor, is not a flat one. the correct pulley will protrude a few inches, when installed.

Rex, you are correct. Part number 451356R2 is listed for 1955 and newer. Part number 451356R2 is for the pre-1955 pulley.
I believe the only different is one of pulley is 4" and the other is 4 1/2" diameter, other than that the alignment on the PTO shaft is the same.
Maybe someone with a better memory can chime on which part number is the larger diameter.
