You don t,a gas mixture has to be in a pretty narrow band to ignite, so it is safe as can be.

I have never heard of the gas mixture igniting in that type of pump. However, it does put petrol or kerosene vapours into a rubber tube. Rubber does not like tractor fuel very much. Eventually the tube starts to oxidize…
