SMTA not starting

Found a really loose wire!!! As luck would have it the wire from the push/pull switch was really loose at the voltage regulator. I also soldered a couple of
connections and re taped them. All other wires are exactly as described.

OK-- I AM NOT GOING TO DO THIS---but what would happen if the tractor was started without the governor on the tractor??? Just curious. Ellis
 


It could be done, although I wouldn't recommend it Ellis. You could clamp a small vise grip to the carb throttle shaft with the handle towards the engine so the weight of the vise grip would hold the throttle plate in the idle position. You would also have a stream of oil coming out from the oil passage on the front plate that oils the governor. Bob
 
Starting with out the governor can cause it to over rev and blow up or not rev up much at all. On that no governor means no throttle control and no control means no way to know what will happen. Simple answer is DON"T do it
 
nothing, as long as you have control of the butterfly valve and dont let it go to wide open. the old cars and trucks had no governor's.
