Farmall A rear end leaking

I have a farmall a that runs and drives great . I notice a leak on the ground and looked at the bottom of the rear end and found a hole in the casting on the very bottom right side of the differential . It looks like the casting has a depression in it like the hole is supposed to be there but there is no plug or threads in the hole. What is supposed to hold the oil in?

My GUESS is that you found the "drain" for the brake area (which should be oil-free), and that a seal on either side of the brakes is leaking, either "rear end oil", or "final drive oil".

That hole does not have any threads you seal on the transmission is leaking and needs replacing if you want to stop the leak
