I was wondering what engine would fit in for a replacement..this one is broken badly and stuck at that...I have no radiator or sheet metal so perhaps parting it out might be a wiser solution as they don't seem to bring much running these days...thanks for any info

A, B, and C blocks are all the same. I built my BA using parts from 2 Bs and an A that had hit a tree and broken into a number of pieces. I built it for the sickle bar mower I had that fit the A

Sadly you are better off buying one that is running and complete unless that one just has sentimental value. You could use it for whatever parts you might need and then just part it out/ sell it off.

I have a 1945 A that was my great grandfather's and rarely ever use it because I also have the Super A that was my grandfather's. The A's don't seem to bring much around here. You can usually buy one running and completely for about what most people want for a good running engine to replace a bad one. There is the occasional person that has the mentality that they are old and therefore, must be worth a ton of money and will list an A Farmall on craigslist for $3,000.
