How to change A brakes

Hello all,
All I can find on changing/checking brake brakes on my 1940 Farmall A is that you need to remove the circle bolt pattern of the final drives and slide them off. Is there a more detailed resource I can go to? Should I take the wheel off or leave it on? Tricks? Don''t do....

A repair manual (from this site) will be the answer. Dealing with the entire assembly is possible, but requires good lifting
equipment and care. I suggest blocking the tractor with wooden shoring under the differential, then removing the tire and wheel to
make the remaining components easier to handle with a engine lift/cherry picker. Jim

Thanks JIm,
The brakes can wait now. I was just trying it out after I rebuilt the carb and a few other things. Now it won't make it up any minor inclines. I am going to start a new post. I make trouble for myself all the time.
