house cat

New User
bought a 584 international tractor around 80's model for 1500 dollars seems to run and work go with almost new set of tires on it on thing is the right side leveling assembly is missing, went to order one and
it asked if it is cat 1 or cat 2 lift, not sure which one it is top pin in the assembly is 5/8 and bottom pin is 3/4, i thought that they all came out with a cat 2, now not so sure what it is any help would be
appreciated on telling me which one it is. Thanks in advance

At 60 HP, gosh, you'd think they'd have to be Category II, IMHO, CAT I maxes out at about 45 HP.

That being said, I'm NOT sure those British heritage IH tractors always used industry-standard lift links.

Is there any way you can get the dimensions of the pin hole sizes in the (presumably aftermarket) lift link you are considering buying?

Also, the "hole-to-hole" dimensions.

Local dealer didn't have one in stock to measure hole size and after market people didn't want to walk back to warehouse and check to see hole size on it. And my parts book does not give pin sizes or part number just a kit to rebuild one. Thanks for the reply.

I'm pretty sure it is a cat II since the rest is. Your 584 is basically just a latter version of our 574 it is cat II like our 06,56,66 series tractors. They did use those stupid odd size pines in the top link on the tractor end. One is about 3/4 with a bigger end on the back end then the other was about 7/8 or inch with a short stub end that was smaller like the 3/4 That is a special pin. Due to the different sizes. Could easily make on with a lathe.

Hi, the 584 is CAT II but is reversible that is the reason for the odd shaped pins on the top link.

See attached parts photo, is the circled part, adjustable lift link the one you are looking for?
