You can never have too many. Looks like you bought it worth the money. If the tires are new, then you pretty much paid for the tires and another couple hundred for the tractor.

I find with old tractors its almost never about need - its more about desire. I doubt there is anyone that needs 6 H's but there are lots of people that would like to have 6 H's.

My thing is Ms. I haveseveral,plus a 400. Don't "need" any more....As was said,it's all about "desire".I have a couple I use regularly,the rest are just 'fluff'.

I have a friend who ranches in the Nebraska Sandhills.

He has 6 H's and each one has its own role on the ranch. They all earn their keep.

They can still do a day?s work. When I started farming my loader tractor was an M. She was awful good to me for 800 bucks. When I started buying new tractors I took the loader off and put it on the mixer grinder. That old thing still grinds feed every couple of weeks. Change the oil once a year, clean out the oil bath, good to go. I?ve never even opened the distributor - I figure don?t mess with it if it ain?t broke.

Funny story - the starter would jam up on it about once a month years ago when I used it everyday. Wouldn?t you know, the day I convinced the wife to get into the bucket to get all of the apples that starter jammed with her at the top of the tree. The wind started to blow and it started to drizzle. I walked off to the shed to get the wrench without saying anything. I was hoping it would take her a while and I could quick get it fixed and she would never be the wiser. When I got back to the tractor she was saying goodbye to the dogs down on he ground because she was sure she was going to die up there after hours just waiting for a lightening strike.

After that I put the starter on it from my parts M. Also, she won?t get in a bucket. I have to have her lift me up to change the yard light bulbs. You want to talk about a quick elevator - she doesn?t get feathering. When it?s time to come down she throws the joystick forward. In case you wondered, a big tractor has enough down pressure to make your shoes leave the ?ground? when she lets you down. I?ve learned to just lay down in the bucket a scream that I am ready to meet the Lord.
