350U bull gear/transmission oil separate?

My gas 350U is now running good with it's new Farmall radiator and segmented fan belt. Still tweaking the radiator mount as the Farmall's is wider at the bottom and doesn't fit neatly between the front bolster. I'm determined not to butcher up the sheet metal and cowling so will move it a little higher. One thing that isn't clear is whether the chamber where the differential and bull gear are located (adjacent to and behind the transmission) is actually a different chamber. Does it get it's oil from the transmission? Is there some sort of passageway where the oil flows back and forth between them or are they checked and filled separately? There's no dipstick on the trans fill plug so I guess filling it until oil comes out the plug on the side is correct...like a lot of machinery. Any ideas are much appreciated.

Thanks, Rustred. There's no TA on this (went from factory to Windsor,VT for the backhoe loader install) so I'm thinking I could just use gear oil, 70-90 weight?

There's a partition, wall, between the transmission and final drive, but oil flows through the big ball bearing that supports the back end of the lower transmission shaft. The big bull gears pick up oil from the lower part of the rear section and throw it through a space between the partitian and top cover or operator's platform. there's channels cast into the top sides of the transmisdion that lets the oil flow up to the front of the transmission and oils the front upper shaft and the pilot bearing between that shaft and the sliding gear shaft that also has the pinion for the final drive. The pto shaft pilots on the extended back end of the lower transmission shaft.

There's sectioned drawings of an H and M, might be Super M, should be on internet somewhere, I probably have a dozen copies in various books, but shows the parts of the transmission clearly, save countless hours of questions and typing long posts.

You should order a parts book and service manual from Binder Books, lots of good pictures and exploded viewd of your 350 Utility.

On a 350U if you have 2 level plugs hidden by the foot clutch you want oil level to show on both. Mine has TA and live PTO.

Thanks for the clarity. I got the manuals and noted on pages 36 and 37 of the Owner's manual that it calls for 10 or 10W engine oil with one quart of IH Torque Amplifier Trans Lubricant. This has had a backhoe/loader since birth so no TA. I'm running 70+ gear oil in the trans/differential so I'm guessing it's okay.
