H hydraulics lift wheel rake?

Should the farmall h hydraulics be able to lift this h & S v12 wheel rake? I believe the total rake weight is 1400 pounds. I don't have a hyd. Pressure tester to check. Also I put 303 fluid in it because other newer tractors use it as well

Don't think a 'belly pump' will have enough poop for your rake. A 'mag' pump should handle it with no problem.

I would doubt it, the wheel rake worked my H pretty hard with the live pump, doubt it would work with belly.

Early belly pumps were rated 500 psi, later in productiion tolerances were improved and were rated 850 psi. Rebuilds after that time also improved early pumps to 850 psi.

If you have the same fluid, #303 in the cylinder on the rake and the H, park the tractor close to the rake and hook the hoses up and try it! Remember, cold fluid is "thicker", more viscous, hot fluid is thinner, tractor won't lift as much with hot fluid as it will with cool fluid.

A larger diameter cylinder will make up for the low psi. Going from a 3x8 cylinder to a 4x8 cylinder increases lift capacity by over 77%.

I used my dads Farmall H to plant corn. John Deere 495A, 4 row, with a full compliment of herbicide, insecticide, and fertilizer boxes. Fully loaded, the belly pump lifted that planter just fine.

For a hay rake you lower once when you enter the field and raise once when you leave the field, that shouldn't be a problem.
Larger cylinder always gives you a finer control of lifting/lowering an implement. Dad always used a 4x8 stroke control cylinder on his plows & disks with the LiftAll, want to raise the plow 1/8th inch, you could with a 4 inch cylinder, probably not with a 3 inch.

We have an H&S bi-fold 12 wheel rake and used to do it but the H struggled and if it's the one with the hydraulic fold option the H couldn't do it our had the belly pump live hydraulics may be a slightly higher pressure and sneak by
