Farmall M Rod bearing caps

I have read that some people using no type of locking tab or no safety wire and some use Loctite on the rod bearing cap bolts. I know that from the factory they left with the rods safety wired and the mains with lock tabs would it be bad to use lock tabs on the connecting rod caps too?
Thanks

When Kristian Gall found his grandpa 1206, if i remember correctly, that's why that got parked ,it had a knock in it, one rod brg had came loose!

I like to go back with what the factory did. So if it was indeed safety wires originally that is what I would go back with. Comparing an engine from a 1206 to an M I would say is apples to oranges. On the other hand many factory car engines including V-8s came from the factory with nothing but tourqued to spec rod bolts. Many of those were capable of spinning up to 4 times the rpm of an M. Again probably apples and oranges.

did a lot of them with no extra locking device. I believe that the locking tabs were good for the good old days when very few people had torque wrenches.

In recent years I have torn down a couple of Farmall H engines. No safety wire on any of them, and the rod caps and main caps were TIGHT.

I just worked on an H that was the other way around. Safety wire on the mains and tabs on the rods. I put it back together that way.
