side play on F14 clutch peddle

The clutch peddle on my F14 has a lot of side play. It moves so much when I had cultivators on the tractor the peddle would go under the lift arm and get stuck. I pulled it off tonight and the shaft is badly worn on the outside end. Makes sense as the tendency is for the peddle to go that direction when pushed. What ever wear in the actual peddle looks pretty consistent across the hole that goes over the shaft. Shaft is a stud welded to the frame so don't really want to change that. I'm thinking about filling in the low spot with a stick welder (its what I own) and grinding it down smooth. I'm not much of a welder so I'm looking for any tips on how to do it or a better idea on how to fix the shaft. Thought about a speedi sleeve but seems like the welding idea would be better.

Charlie, I have welded filled and ground down as needed on clutch peddles and brake pivot pins on F-12 and F-14 it works and can be done.

That pin you are talking about presses in to the frame rail and can be replaced but the rail pretty much needs to be taken off of tractor to accomplish it.
