Case ih 7120 oil pan question.

On a Case IH 7120 front wheel assist will
the oil pan drop straight down from the
engine after removing the drive shaft? A
friend of mine owns the tractor and the pan
has a crack in it and needs to be repaired.
I haven't looked at it yet but he thinks
it's not going to drop down between the
frame rails. Do you normally have to remove
a frame rail to drop the oil pan? I'm not
real familiar with them. Also does the oil
pan removal affect the rear main seal?
Thanks for any help.

The pan will come out with frame rails left in place.

Removing the pan does not disturb the rear seal carrier. However, the seal carrier bolts are known to loosen up where it is attached at the block, correcting that requires splitting the tractor and removing the flywheel and housing.

When you have the pan off if the seal carrier can be moved around you will need to split to fix it.
