Narrowing up Farmall 655

Need to get a Farmall 656 as narrow as possible to haul it.
Can anyone tell me what minimum distance across rear tires can be set to?
15.5 X 38's and can switch centers around to dish inward.
Thanks in advance guys!

Most tractors that size can get down to 60" center-to-center on the tires but not much if anything
less. Add the tire width of 16" and you have a minimum theoretical edge-to-edge of 76". Plan on
an extra inch or two above that to account for tire bulge at the bottom.

Pretty easy to get them down to 60" c/c.You can probably get it down to 50" by rearangeing the dish(in),and setting the rim clamps at their narrowest setting. 60" is common/popular, and about as narrow as you would want to go. Anything narrower would get pretty tippy. Most(if not all) trailers will accommodate a tractor set at 60"

If it has the 38" cast centers and the rims are mounted on the outer bevel, you can simply slide the wheels in and it will fit between the fenders on any "low boy" style trailer that is heavy enough to haul it.
