Electric Power Steering

Did anybody see the article in Red Power Magazine, where they put electric power steering on a Super A Farmall, looks pretty compact. They said with the mower on it it was steerable with one finger, I mow with a B, and it does steer pretty hard, a lot harder than one would think ! I want live PTO more,LOL .

When was the last time you serviced the steering sector and what kind of tires the 4.00xc15 steer good. Yes that idea of power steering is a good idea but he didn't say where he got the brain that makes it work just gave the price nor did he say what car the unit came from did give the price I am sure getting the rite unit off the junk car would be important.

I believe the steering parts came from a Saturn VUE in the article you are talking about. I was impressed by it but not sure how well it would hold up in a heavier tractor like my 400. Googling it will come up.

Was this the gentleman from Wisconsin? He is a regular contributor to "Green Magazine", and in the June & July issues he wrote about doing this conversion, even though it is on a red tractor.
For $10 cash and a SASE he will send a packet of information about the conversion.

From the John Deere forum:

(quoted from post at 00:03:34 07/02/18) Farm show also did an electric steering article

(quoted from post at 09:00:40 07/02/18)
It all started with the article in Farm Show. I saw that and thought of it when answering a Mr. Thinker question about adding power steering to a 40 and suggested that those interested contact Farm Show for a copy of the article.
Ron O'Neill saw that and ran with it and perhaps perfected the system while adding it to a Farmall. He also writes articles for Red Power and did pretty much the same article for them that he did for us.

The articles in "Green Magazine" appeared in the June and July issue.

The contact info from that article is:

Tractor Doctor Ron O'Neill

include SASE and $10 cash.
