SMTA hydraulic pump

I keep pushing seals out of hydraulic pump. The main use I put on it is running Char Lynn ps. It is plumbed with a priority valve in pressure line from pump. Priority line goes to power steering and return from PS to liftall box. Other line from prioity valve goes to a double spool valve. Relief at spool valve is set at 1000 pounds. Return from valves goes to lift all box and return from there to pump. Do I need a relief valve between priority valve and PS unit? Is there some type sealant I can put on pump seals so they don't push out? Anything else in pump that would cause excess pressure to push seals out. Would running too much oil to ps unit cause this? I would appreciate any help on this pulling my hair out.

If you are PUSHING the ft. seal out of the pump your pump is TOAST and i don't care how many seals you put in they will come out Ya need a new pump . The pump it's self is capable of making way over 2450 PSI , BUT the drive system on a OLD farmall is not . Now with out seeing pictures or seeing the tractor up close and personal i have no idea of how you rigged it . Normally a good system will make 1250 and maybe a shade more , the pump is capable of making 12 GPM ya need three GPM for the power steering and anywhere from your 1000 to 1250 psi . So the proper way of plumbing is the high pressure line should come off the pump to a flow divider with a 1/2 inch line coming off the flow divider accessory port going to the P/S and the main line going to the liftall as this is where the pressure relief valve is located then your remotes sould come off the high pressure ports from there and then to the christmas treevalve for your double acting . Now keep in mind here if ya mess up you can take the key out of the pump drive or you can even take the ft timing gears out and wipe out the end of the cam shaft.
