electronic ignition on 560

Trying to put Petronix elec ign on a tractor with a 403 combine engine. 368051 R1 dist number, petronix 1461 ign kit.
The magnetic ring doesn't seem to go down far enough on the distributer shaft. Dust cover will not touch distributer. Leave dust cover off rotor will hold dist cap up about 1/8 inch off dist

The distributor cam may be catching on the new ring. Look at the cam to see if there is a burr or wear on it. (also check the ring) it should slide on a bit tight, but not catch. Jim

grind a big hole in center of dust cover to clear
