SMTA shifter pin came out, need help!

I finally can get to the last of the hay and the pin that holds the gear shift arm fell out. This has happened a long time ago and I cannot remember how to fix it. I have the pin. When I put the pin back in, the tractor is in gear even though the shifter is in neutral. How do I line up the bumps down in the hole, then put the shift arm back in with pin to make everything right again? REALLY appreciate any help!

Pull the shifter out, use a LED bright light to see in the hole use a big screw driver or small pry bar to align the rail slots. (pushing in the clutch can help.) Put the shifter back in the hole. Use a new Pin A long grade 8 bolt cut to length so the shaft is the only part used is great. New welsh plugs are available to put back in the access holes. NAPA or Fastenal has them. Jim

Thanks Jim, when you say align the rail slots....there are three raised square things down in the hole and I can move them forward and backward. Do I move them all forward or back or doesnt it matter? Just drop the shifter in and pin it?

I figured it out from Jims first response. Back at it now...just came in to call off the alarm. Thanks all!
