Rustred,

Thanks for the comments I put the w6 in the shed we are planning on a out west trip for vacation. I plan on going over it in July engine is loose going to oil everything up and clean up carburetor and due a tune up and oil change and see what happens will keep you posted.

Is that outlet 2-1/2 inches in diameter? Looks 1-3/4" like an H/W-4 muffler would be. M/W-6 muffler outlet should be 2-1/2 inches.

Dr Evil,

By parts book it?s listed for a M, I believe the h and m both to have the very small outlets when new, if you look at the farmall m photo archives book it clearly shows a MD with this exact muffler, I don?t know exactly when they went to the bigger outlet like the 357288 muffler

Rusty,

I forgot honestly I don?t live on the home place. I will be there
Tuesday and I?ll look and take a couple pics

350601R92 is one number listed for a M and W6 above a certain serial number. Also listed as one for a 300 or 350 but a higher suffix.

D Slater,

Do you have any info about the serial numbers for m models
Or any more info on the 300-350
What tractors is the muffler correct for?

IF the M/W-6/MD ever had the 1-3/4 inch outlet muffler it was only for a very very short time. I have the Farmall H photo archives book, those are mostly prototype pictures, or pictures from early production tractors bought by farmers. IH did show mufflers with short outlets, on both H&M, But in ALL the IH M literature I've seen I have never seen a 1-3/4 inch outlet muffler on an M. An outlet that small according to testing by hundreds of engine builders just increases piston tempurature which is very detrimental to engine life. I'm very surprised IH didn't learn that in the years they built Farmall Regulars, F-20, F-30, F-12/14, 8-16, 15-30, etc. etc.

M 136202 up used 350601R91 and within 18 months or less to 350601R92. W-6 21123 up. 300 used 350600R95 or 355869R91 and they were also for a 350 before number 350601R95. IH used several different muffler numbers and depending on time period some were used on certain tractors and others could be interchanged with others. Other numbers not mentioned was also for tractors I posted along with other numbers later on.
