I am putting on a M&W throttle on an H and the spring is broken, anybody have a number from CaseIH or just go to the hardware store. thanks chris

Years ago I found a suitable replacement for mine at an old line hardware store.

Or if you still have the broken spring and can measure it up, you can likely find a near exact replacement online at McMaster-Carr. Visit their home page and search on "die spring"

The "correct" spring for the M&W friction throttle is not available anywhere that I can find. It was cone-shaped. There will not be a Case-IH part number, as that throttle assembly was never an OE-item nor was it an approved service or wholegoods part. You can contact M&W, but I doubt they have any of the tractor parts anymore.

There is a spring for other aftermarket friction throttles available from most every aftermarket part supplier, including this site. Some also list it as for M&W, or for M&W style throttles. This is not the original style spring for the M&W friction throttle. Squash it down tight and it will work for a while.

.Here's a spring I pulled out my spare junk, the other ones are used to hold the crossover pipe to manifolds. They're cone shaped, GM and Chrysler use them, these would be too long but some of the cars might use smaller ones.
