560 transmision

I changed oil in transmision the other day. I got about 7 or 8 gallons from front, small, plug behind engine, then about the same from rear plug over drawbar. front plug quit flowig after the 7 to 8 gallons. Is there a partition in the transmission that separates these? When refilling all oil goes in the same hole. Since I have never seen one of these torn down just wondering if IH did that so hydraulics use front part and transmission on back, or does the hydraulic pump and ps pump pull from front part.

Drain in front of transmission housing just before center housing starts. One in rectangle plate with most mounting bolts near front of center housing. Bigger plug at rear. 7 to 8 gallons out of both would probably be getting close to what you get. Some oil stays trapped inside even with plugs out.

my questioin is if there is a baffel or partial partition in the transmission between the front drain and the rear end? seems like the hydraulic pump and ps pump would be in the front section so that if you drain that part you wouldn't have to drain the rear part to get pumps out.

Kinda sort of baffled - due to the castings. And their different heights. It is a common sump.

When I change filters, or pumps, I just drain the front - the one with the square 3/8 hole for ratchet.

Hope that answers your question.

that was what I needed to know, just didn't ask it right. I don't get much oil out of filter but I know a lot will come from pump side, easier to drain front part than the rear one over the 3pt hitch bar, thank you for the help

Draining only the front will leave a lot of oil in the system.
