Couple of days ago I posted about my 100 only running with the choke mostly out and water getting into the oil. I haven't figured out the water problem yet but I have found the source of why the tractor needed some much choke. Today I changed the carb from the 100 and my A. Now the A need a lot of choke and the 100 is running great. Guess tomorrow I will open them up and see what is inside. I've had the carb from the 100 apart a number of times, ran a wire into the little holes and did everything I know how to do to make it real clean. Someone mentioned on my other post maybe the venteri is in backwards.I didn't think that would fit but I will compare it to the good carb tomorrow. I'm going to be made at myself if it is that simple. If it is in backwards I didn't remove it from the carb so the last guy to work on it would have done it. Probably the same guy that put the distributor on so the clips are at 9 and 3 instead of 12 and 6. I would love to have this fixed so I can rake hay with this tractor next week.

I dont know about your particular tractor, but my m ran like that, great with 3qter choke, because throttle shaft bushings were not installed properly. Passage was blocked. I cleaned and cleaned. No change. Your tractor may not have those just random idea

When cleaning/rebuilding a carb one need to do a number of things. A good soaking in carb cleaner. Spray it out with carb cleaner spray. Blow it out with air. Poke out the passageways with a wire or as I use a torch tip cleaner tool. Then more carb cleaner spray and air.

I tried many times to fix/repair my Zenith carb; too far gone to make work. My last option was "Danstractorsupplies" out in California- he has most all carbs ready to ship and does excellent work; My tractor runs great. Just another option.

Our Super C has a Zenith carb on it, & is very
touchy on float level.
Just a bit too high of float level, & it will
blow black smoke & flood.

Float level too low, & it will starve.

Took 3 "adjustments" to get ours to run right.

If you're relatively new to doing carbs it's real easy to miss something even though you think you've cleaned everything out and put it back together right. It can be frustrating.
