farmal c will not start

Hello, need help we have a farmal c that was running very rough the other day brought it in to shop and checked the gas bowl and cleaned that. then we cleaned the plugs then put new plug wires on. then put new cap on put new coil and new condenser on. It will not start and no spark at plug wires. what could be wrong?

First thing you did wrong was to throw parts at it before trouble shooting. NEVER do that or you can/will cause more problems.
#1 check for spark from the center wire of the distributor cap. It needs to be a blue/white and jump a 1/4 inch gap or more. If you have no spark there then the points need to be cleaned or replaced. You can carefully open and close the points by hand with the ignition on and you should both see and hear a spark when doing that. No spark means dirty points or bad condenser. By the way condensers almost never go bad but new ones you stand a 50/50 chance of being bad right out of the box.

We did not just put all these things on all at one time we did each of these things separate and tried to get it to start after putting on one at a time. the points looked good but may have to replace them

Have you got a 12 volt conversion. If so could be a bad resistor. If you have a resistor and put on the wrong coil could also be a problem. If its 6 volt then ignore this note.

Does not matter if you put the parts in all at once or one at a time TROUBLE before parts period.

I use a number of ways to trouble shoot no spark.
#1 take a wire and hook it to the battery non=ground side and then touch it to the ignition side of the coil. If the points are good and closed you should see a small spark. No spark means points are dirty/corroded. Points can look good but not conduct power and if that happens you will not have spark. If you have that spark next turn the engine over just enough to open the points and try the wire to the coil again. If you have a spark then you have a short in the distributor some place so you can never get spark because power does not get to the points.

If I where to say every thing I know to test what your problem is I could fill 2 or 3 pages

Every thing I have said still holds true be it + or - ground non-ground side of the battery is the ignition side be it + or -. But the coil does not work as well if it is hooked up back wards so if it is + ground the + side of the coil goes to the distributor

Agree with Old's posts to verify that the voltage is reaching the terminal on the distributor outside, and also that its making its way to the points themselves. There could be problems with the ignition switch itself or a bad connection in the wiring harness.

Lifting/opening the points with a pencil (etc) should simulate the cam of the driveshaft, and it should cause the coil to discharge a spark thru the center wire to ground (held or set at the appropriate distance away).

I would work with that simple setup until you can discharge sparks every time you lift/open the points. Then replace the rotor, replace the cap and the wires. Hopefully you remember which post holds the #1 wire otherwise you will have to check static time which isn't too bad.

Might be useful…
From Joseph Lucas Ltd:
Assuming no spark at spark plug leads -
Engine will not fire:
Check for fault in low tension wiring. This will be indicated by
i. no ammeter reading when the engine is slowly turned and the ignition switch is on, or alternatively a steady reading, which does not fluctuate with opening and closing of the contact breaker and
ii. no spark between the contacts when quickly flipped open by hand.
