Timing tape

So is there a source to get some timing tape, to stick on the crankshaft pulley, to figure out about where 22 degrees is, or just go about half way between the two marks that are on their with a white marker ?

Mark 180 (half way around) on the pulley starting at TDC . Divide that in half (90 degrees) divide that in half 45 degrees. Divide that in half 22.5 degrees. Or measure around the pulley with a cloth tape. Divide that number by .125. (22.5 degrees) Jim

I use white 'Correctotype' correction fluid. Comes in a small nail polish like bottle with a small brush

IH use to give you a template with over haul kit to mark pulley and take a three corner file and cut a new notch at 22 degrees.

You can easily time it by ear and get real close.

open throttle clear up, rotate distributor so that engine is at max RPM, idle down, if it lopes, retard a little bit.

Think it might of been Pete 23 that said 22 degrees at full throttle was 1 + 7/16 before TDC.
