Clutch will not disengage ?49 cub

Installed new clutch disk, pressure plate, pilot bushing and throw out bearing.
Clutch will not disengage. I adjusted the pressure plate fingers but I guess it is wrong. How do u properly adjust the fingers before installation?

With the clutch and pressure plate installed on the flywheel, adjust the fingers so that it measures 1-1/4" from face of pressure plate to where the throw out bearing contacts the fingers.

The new pressure plates don't have bolts long enough for 1-1/4". You can barely get 1-1/8" and still have enough thread for the lock nut to engage.

1-1/8" does work and is the new measurement for these fingers.

Another possibility is that you put the clutch disk in backwards.
