Tractor running fine and timing seems to be right; when I pull the throttle lever back- it seems not to increase speed....about one out of 4 or 5 times it will speed up...but usually just sits there. I removed the linkage from carburetor side and cover off of elbow where it goes over to governor- oiled connections and made sure it was in carburetor correctly and all looks ok....any ideas why it doesn't increase throttle? Thanks.

Your governor is stuck.I had the same problem on my Regular.Loosened the cover{if I remember correctly}Stuck a flat bar in against it and hit it with a hammer and it popped loose

Ok...I have all the covers and off (2) and all seems to be moving like it should be....will take carb loose this morning to assure the linkage is moving the throttle plate. Thanks.

I dropped the carb about 1" and it does move the throttle plate open and closed. so....?

Is the throttle moving freely ? I had a carb. for my F20 rebuilt and throttle plate was very stiff.I had to take it apart and get freed up.

yes its free; I think I have solved this....I looked down in the governor box(with top off) and poured oil over all of it and stuck a pry bar under weights and moved them around- seems to work now. Maybe something in there was stuck? Thanks.
