What is the difference between the os 6 and the w6? I have a 49 0s 6.Never hear much about them. Are they considered to be a rare tractor? Do they have the same engine an etc.Just curious, thanks.

The tractors are basically identical with 2 exceptions. the exhaust is underslung on the O, and there is way more sheet metal faring to allow working under trees. so though nearly identical on the inside, they are very different looking. N OS-6 is somewhere between the two. Jim

The O-6 is narrower than the W-6, the wheels are reversed, there is no room for clutch and brake pedals at the front of transmission so )-6 uses hand clutch and the brake pedals are behind the transmission as the seat is over the drawbar and is much lower as is the steering column. The O-6 has a low speed first gear and requires the very heavy front wheels to help prevent rearing up. The OS-6 is an O-6 without all the complex fenders and fairings.
