I just bought a 484. It has 5000 hours and seems to be in good condition. It has two hydraulic lines and the back and I know the lever on the right activates then. Is one pressure and one return? Then you can reverse the fluid depending on if you move the lever up or down?

Does the PTO have a built in one way clutch? Or should I put one on?

I can't find a serial number decoder online. Its B480907B009540-X

Its supposed to be a special version for going down rows.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Jon, at 5000 hrs your 484 is just like new. Re hydraulic lever for remote outlets, it has 4 positions, back is up, neutral, forward is down and
fully forward is float. Default setup is for a double acting remote cylinder ( 2 hoses). If your remote cylinder only has 1 hose plug it into the
bottom outlet and then use the lever in forward to extend or lift the implements and the float to lower.
Re PTO, it has no built in overrunning clutch, just off, soft start, on.
If it is a Diesel put some Diesel fuel conditioner or 2 cycle engine oil in the fuel tank every time you add fuel. This helps lube the older Bosch
fuel pumps that were not designed for today?s low sulphur fuels.
Also always remember to disengage the parking brake. The newe 495 models have replaced the parking brake warning light in the dash with a
flashing light.
Re serial numbers, go to tractor data.com down in bottom left of each tractor model there is usually a serial number to year listed.

If you don?t have an Operator manual, I recommend buying one.

Good luck with your 484

I want to use my log splitter on my 484. On the splitter, it needs constant pressure on the ''IN'' side and ''out'' is the return. How do I set the auxiliary valve on the tractor to have constant pressure and which outlet do I use on the tractor ?
Thanks, Andre
