Front end fitment?

I have a Super M with a wide front, a 300 with a narrow front, and a 460 with a wide front. I assume I can swap the front ends between the 300 and the 460 but the Super M front won?t fit either tractor? I?d like to have a narrow front on the Super M and a wide front on the 300. The 460 is a long term project. Thanks.

I think the SM and the 460 are the same bolt pattern wise, but there is a height offset.. The 300 is a little bit smaller with the pedestal pattern size.

I would think you could find a narrow front for an M at most any salvage yard as it seems people always want to wide front. I put a single front wheel from my SMTA onto a 560 parts tractor and it fit fine so you have a wide range of narrow fronts that would fit

Hi Sam, haven't talked to you for quite some time. Where are you living Barrs Corner or Shubenacadie? Cheers, Murray

Hi Murray,

Good to hear from you, still in Barss Corner. I?ll give you a shout in the next few days.

Sam

Not too many salvage yards (or large Farmalls) in Eastern Canada but I?ll be looking. Do you know if the wide front from the 460 will fit the 300? Thanks, Sam

Two parts keep the 460 wide front from being a bolt on to the 300. Steering arm has a different bolt pattern and the frame saddle is to wide and deep for a 300. 460 and the SM have the same bolt pattern for a narrow front or a wide front steering arm. 460 front will bolt on the SM except for the rear saddle being different. Spindle size is different if hubs not included.
