Si is there and easy way to lube the steering gear on a B. My BA that is the front half of a B and the back half of an A is getting a bit hard to steer out of a Sharpe turn so I am thinking it need to be greased up but have not found any place to do so or do you have to take it apart to do that.
Thanks

Originally would have been oil filled, in the front under the grill is a fill, drain, and check plug. If you go to add oil it will most likely leak due to a combination of worn seals and bushings/bearings. With this being said I generally add a zerk fitting to the fill plug and pump the cavity full of heavy impact grease.

Thanks. I think I'll first give some 85W-140 gear oil a try then if it leaks out I'll go with the grease.

I figured the grill would be a pain in the back sides to pull but not all that bad. 2 bolts and unclip the hood on one side and it was off. Ya there should be 3 bolts but the one bolt on the top right side is not there. Have it about fill right now but ran out of oil in the little bottle so had to fill it up

I have noticed that every time I have a birthday the steering seems to get a little harder on my manual steer tractors. Not sure that is the case with yours though

Ya some how with my bad back and bad right shoulder and all yep as time goes by they do seem to steer harder and harder. But getting some oil into it helped a whole lot

another option is JD Cornhead grease. It is softer than regular grease but won't leak out as quick as oil
