3 point for 1949 M.

New to the site. New to the tractor. Got a m that was my dads.
Runs good. Has live hydrolics that needs some love.
Anyways wanna get a 3 point on it and be able to leave draw
bar on it. Saw Saginaw is the best but I can?t find any. Where
can I find one and any other suggestions on other brands. We
have a H also. Will that cross fit? Thanks.

If you see a Cornhusker brand advertised, that's one very similiar to a Saginaw, If you're pretty handy metal man,you could even make one, but it uses two hyd cylinder's, do u have that much hyd capacity ?

I am not sure on fluid capacity. It?s got the pump off distributor and rest is original with the sump in the belly.

I have 3 M Farmalls, each with a 3 point hitch. One is a Worksaver, one is a Saginaw, and one is homemade. The Saginaw will work with your drawbar which is a plus. The Worksaver comes with a bracket to support the swinging drawbar. My homemade one only has one cylinder, but it will lift just as much as the others which both have two cylinders. I think the pump only puts out so much pressure and it doesn't matter how many cylinders. Saginaw has quit making 3 point hitches, I don't know about Worksaver. From time to time I see a Saginaw on Craigslist' usually incomplete. You might also look on used parts at YT. Ellis

I have one worksaver and one I believe is a cornhusker, the worksaver is on a SMTA. It had one hydraulic cylinder on it when I got it but I added a second, not sure I gained anything. You can set it up to have down pressure. Both hitches have provision to use the IH swinging drawbar with them. Only problem is that at times you can't get the hitch arms low enough without hitting the drawbar. I think worksavers are still made as I got some parts for mine this year. If you look on the internet you can find a supplier.

I have a Saginaw I bought 14 years ago on a Super M with the 2 hydraulic cylinders, and I have a friend who has a Cornhusker with no hydraulic cylinders. I am near Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Where are you located?

I have 3 Ms and an H with 'aftermarket' 3 points. 0ne is all homemade, one is 'half' home made, two are straightened, cleaned up,modifyed... All three work well with the all homemade on the superM being the best. On all the hoop drawbar has been removed, the straight 'swinging' drawbar is used as a nonswinger and is supported by the frame of the hitch. If you are at all handy with metal working, you can make your own.A lot of work but really not that hard to do. Look at some other hitches, take some measurements......I've made 5 or 6 other hitches over the years,no two are exactly the same.LOL Use what you have in the 'iron pile'.......Good luck! You can do it!

Yes, Tony's Tractors is the only place currently manufacturing new 3pt hitches for M's that I am aware of.

Beyond that finding a used one is just a matter of searching and luck.

Try these people. I think they actually make the hitch.

I have a cornhusker and it leaves both the swinging drawbar and original horseshoe on the tractor
