IHC W-30 ....running

Finally all is good- almost. W-30 will start 2nd or 3rd pull ; timing advance lever just off the stop....maybe a 1/2 inch or less....runs best at that point - but when I move the lever to full advance it starts to sputter some ; should run best clear to the right - full advance. Any ideas for me?

If it is not under load, the extra advance might be too much. If the timing is tripping the impulse coupling at or a tiny bit after TDC, the lever should be at the retard position. If it goes too far toward retard, the full speed full advance timing might be off. Jim

I can try this again; but I did try moving one whole back last week while timing engine; the DC timing mark on the flywheel ended up being 3" before the mark on the housing.....so I moved it back to original hole I had it in and mark hits "right on" the housing timing mark- so I left it there. Thanks.
