1928 Farmall Regular Questions

Hello again! I am working on my Farmall Regular and I am having trouble finding a particular part for the tractor. I need the silver looking cast iron piece in the photo and I am out of luck of where to get one. I also need to know what this piece is called so I can look for it. I know what it does and know how it functions but I cannot find this piece. Mine broke and I want to keep the tractor in its original condition. So that means no variable governor for this tractor. Any info on this piece is highly appreciated. Second, I need to know what the head torque specs are for the tractor. I need to know foot lbs and the torquing sequence. Any help on this old thing is highly valued and appreciated! I am almost done with the old gal but I am stuck looking for the part and torquing the head....

Ben, I have a part Regular, but I think it has the variable speed set up. When you say silver I say gray pot metal cover?
I will have to look and see if I have one. You could try Bieler Tractor salvage in MN. I think he still has Regulars and old F series.
I don't think you will find that at a part house. Salvage yard is you best bet.
 
The part numbers you need (I think) are:
1454D Governor Throttle Spring Support
12712DA Governor Throttle Spring Adjuster
These parts also fit 10-20 Tractors.

Hey Ben! Good to see you are getting close! If Biewer's can't help you - you might want to try Dwayne Hansford at Rustic Red Acres tractor parts. He is a pre-'39 IH guy. They do have a website, just google rusticredacres.
 
i no a fellow that has a 1928 regular for sale , did not get a chance to look at it ,but says it was restored except for it needs a clutch. he says it has some optional clutch that costs about 1k, to buy , is this correct, ? wants 1800 or best offer for it , might be worth checking out.
