Anyone have simple way to replace the seals in this type pump. I am getting oil into the dist. I know some will say that a new seal will not hold.

Thanks.

cuby,
I replaced the seals in my pump on smta with success. Found seals locally using the SKF interchange site and numbers that were on the old seals. Pump disassembly is required to get them changed so you will also need the o rings between the sections which are common also.
Sorry, I didn't make good enough notes to give you the numbers.
Very much worth the try.

Have you got the pressure turned up, I did to lift the single wing on the woods, but i turned it down after the first time i found hydraulic oil in the oil pan, my seals have been holding !!

I have also replaced seals on my SMTA, got them from NAPA as mentioned below with your old seal #. They may also cross IH number I can't remember. Check for a grooved shaft where seal rides. I put a sleeve over the shaft on mine, can't remember the name but others probably will have it. The last time I rebuilt mine the seals were pushed out so I staked the housing after replacing.

checked my books, seal number is 8703 CR, Napa uses that same number. the sleeve I mentioned just called shaft repair sleeve on my paperwork, thought they were called a speedy sleeve or something like that.
