Farmall H (and others) - What's the center tube mount for?

I have a question about a mounting point on my Farmall H. I kind of thought it would be used for cultivators, but it looks like it isn't. So I'm wondering what the heck it [i:a228173bfa]is[/i:a228173bfa] for. Here's a good picture:

That mounting point is the lowest part of the frame in that picture, directly below the battery box. In the picture, there's a decal there, but there's nothing there on mine.

Anyone know where/how that gets used?

By memory, A I'll use term, swing arm supported front end of hydraulic cylinder and lift rod for rear mounted equipment like planter or lister as used in this area maybe something else in vegetable or tobacco areas of country

If you're talking the 1 inch hole all the say thru in the bottom of the lift-all pump, I THINK the owner's manual shows some sort of pipe fitted in there, with a tab to prevent the pump from pivoting, to lift up and down that really heavy lift-all pump. I THINK. AS I REMEMBER.

as Leroy says lots of linkages were hooked there for all the rear tooling devices used. I often wondered the same till I seen different attachments that were used on those tractors

I agree with Leroy. We used a "S" shaped rod to support the front of the cylinders (1 on each side)to lift the lister when planting corn. The other/stationary end of the cylinders attached to the axle bracket that supports the drawbar.

My Dad had a 4 row corn cultivator on his H, that hole was used to support the cultivator. that was the easy part of the cultivator to put on .

All of the answers given so far have been correct. a crooked bar went in it to support the front of the lift units for cultivators and mowers, and there was a too that went in it with a large T on the end to allow 2 people to let the pump assembly down or lift it back into place when servicing.

A bracket hooks to that with a hydraulic
cylinder for lifting a model 24 picker also
besides what others have stated below.

Thanks everyone! About to switch back from my tip loader to the cultivator, and was wondering. Very helpful!
