Farmall A seems stuck in gear

Hello I have a Farmall A been setting in my buddy driveway for few years now. When we parked it we pur it in nuetral. We had to roll it around some.
Went to move it the other day and seems stuck in gear although the gear shift is in neutral. What you all think could be and possible fixes. Thanks !

Hello Gene. I can push the clutch pedal and the gear shift is in neutral but still wont move

sounds like it is locked in 2 gears. my C farmall does this. block the front wheels, jack up one rear . will it turn? if not, you will probably need to remove the shifter lever, look down inside and see if the rails are lined up. the slots that the shift lever goes in , should line up with each other, to be in neutral. if not move them so they align

It is much easier to remove the entire top cover of the transmission on an A, which includes the shift tower and shifter. Then you can look right in, see where the gears are situated, determine if things are full of water and rusted to beat the band, or what...

It is also possible that critters have made nests in the brake housings, done plenty of business up in there, so now the brakes are rusted and seized.

Maybe the starter is stuck to the ring gear. It happens on Farmalls as ring gears get beat up over the years. If so its a simple fix - pull starter, move flywheel a small amount and reinstall the starter. If that is what is happening it will happen again over time until you put in a new ring gear.

So has some one put it in gear while it sat?? If it was parked out of gear and no one put it in gear I would say it has rusted up from sitting and condensation and maybe rain has entered the transmission and rusted things up Seen it happen to a number of machines over time. Also could be the brakes rusted up

When I was about 12 I was practicing my "speed shifting" on my dads parked Super C and got it locked in two gears. Dad went to his grave without figuring out how that could have happened.
