Axle housing gasket

My Axle housing gasket is leaking between
the axle housing and differential case
whats the easiest way to fix this and also
im not finding noone sellin that gasket
any ideas where to look for one or should
I just use silicone

what tractor there is usually a seal coming out of the tranny on the differental shaft no gasket

You need to find the gasket. The repair has been done by supporting the final drive housing carefully to take all pressure off the axle but not lift the tire. Drain the oil. Removing all the housing to case bolts. The housing can be moved outward about 3/8 to 1/2 inch. clean and double check the mating surfaces. Split the new gasket at the top (cut it). If the "new" gasket is sized well, it will loop under the housing and fit into the opening. Use a thin coat of #2 permatex on both sides. Put in place with a dab of #2 on the split. If the gasket is wrinkled or shrunk, it might need to be refreshed using hot water. Put the bolts in place as the gasket is positioned. Jim
