IH 574 diesel

Can I flip over the exhaust manifold on my 574 diesel to convert it from a grass burner to a stack? I'm assuming it is a late 1973 early 1974. Thanks in advance.

Hi, someone asked this question a few years ago and IIRC the answer was NO without changing exhaust manifolds.

i have a 684 with a vertical exhaust and the hood is off i'm going to say no you can't flip the underslung manifold. the water manifold/themostat
housing won't let the elbow on the exhaust manifold get close enough to bolt up.

Just Add to the pipe so it can come up the back by the fender. We did that so we could breathe when hitching things up to it. 40 years ago. Solves both your problems the exhaust goes up and it is easy to breathe behind the tractor.
