Farmall M Beginner
Member
I have a 1955 Farmall 400 that I do a little farming with (10 acres)
If I get up against a load (like pulling a plow or if the disk bites in deep) the clutch will slip. I do not smell or hear anything although I don't let it slip very often or very much if it does start to slip.
Am I needing to replace the clutch disk? or do I also need the pressure plate and ect. I am getting ready to put a loader on the tractor and I want to get the clutch sorted out first.
Also, do I need to split the tractor to replace the clutch? I replaced the clutch in a Farmall M and I was able to go through the belly pump hole. I think splitting might be easier?, I have a loader to help and a friend has stands to hold the tractor up.
Thanks for any help and advice!
