What is the parts availability for the W4 and W6 McCormick Deering tractors? Just wondering as I always thought

I might pick one up if I got the chance.

The engine parts are the same as a H and M and there are lots of them around. Not sure about transmission parts but there has to be a lot of used parts available.

Most of the transmission of a W-4 is the same as that in a Farmall H (similarly for W-6 and Farmall M) The bevel pinion and gear on the differntial shaft have different ratios to account for the different size rear wheels.

Thanks for the info guys, Now I won't be shy about buying one. I always thought they looked like a real work horse.

They are tough, but other than drawbar work not real useful, and combine that with 4 slow gears and 1 road gear, not real friendly for field work other than the old tillage gear they were built for.

Have a W-4 here, put only a few hours a year on it. Not much left I can use it for other than woods work.
