Another F30 Value Question....

A couple of years ago, I came across a 1936 F30 parked in front of a shed. The old boy who owned it told me to "come drag it off"...About a week later, he died, and the whole farm (including several other IH tractors...) went into a messy probate involving a supposed "girlfriend". I got word that the mess has been resolved, and the man's son wants to talk to me about the tractors. I doubt he knew his dad told me to drag it off, so.... What do I offer him for it? Tires are shot, I THINK the motor was stuck, mostly complete, about 6" into the dirt....Nothing special....
Figured scrap price, but wanted to get opinions....North Central Missouri.

I agree with offering salvage price for a parts tractor rather than scrap price. Is there much demand for common 1930's tractors anymore? If you try to restore it you will invest $1,000's in parts, tires and your labor even if you got the tractor for free.

I've found getting a great deal on a project is the best way to get ripped off by yourself! Still, if you're into projects than it can still be worth while, but that doesn't make it worth much. Maybe even offer him a small amount for all the tractors to get them outta his hair and then you can focus on the F30 while selling parts/tractors to help fund the one project you want to keep for yourself.
