Has anyone ever fitted a fertilizer attachment from a later model SA or 140 to an A? Iím thinking you could engage the drive with a rod by hand. Can the drive gear be added to the left hand final drive? How did they use to side dress in the 30ís and 40ís before the SA?

That's pretty interesting. I'd love to see a photo of one if someone has one. I would imagine that they are pretty rare.

IH made a fertilizer attachment for the A. It was considerably different from the Super A unit. We used an A unit on a Super A. I don't know of any reason you can't go the other way. You would have to install the planter drive on the A axle. I think it will bolt on.
