can anyone give reviews on a brand new H manifold off of this site or from the other suppliers ? hows the fit, quality, which supplier is better? that sort of info, i dont need one now but would like to no in case i want to get a new one , thanks
 
I have a new manifold here that came with a tractor I purchased. it fits both carbs ( super & non super) and the ports are [u:50d7402251]much [/u:50d7402251] smaller than an original IH manifold. I really don't want to use it for that reason. I have no idea who made it but in the future I would want to see the manifolds before I purchased one for that reason
 
I bought an aftermarket one, a vinson i
guess off m at auto scrapyard. For 15bucks
i couldnt leave it. Shaped alittle
different, thinner made. Looks like it has
cracks cuz i think its made in pieces and
fused together. Still looked almost new. I
know alot of ih ones look rough now. I
guess i would get an original one checked
or plained and use it rather than new one.
I was quoted 75 to 90 to do that were i
live.
 
As McCormick said they are set up up
for both, meaning the carb flange is
larger than the original H. They also
have a hole to mount the carb instead
of studs.
 
I bought one (not from this site).
When I got a chance to get a good one
from the salvage yard I did. It fit
but I liked the original better. I
still have it if you want to buy it.
 
you didnt like the new one you bought? what was wrong that you had to get a used one ? did it not fit well, or was it cheaply made?
 
If you were asking me, i had bought a nice
used one for 75bucks a year ago. The guy i
got it from it may not be a bad idea to
stop at machine shop and check it. It was
only 11thous off. He said thats fine no
need to plain. I got the vinson just in
case 50 yrs from now i need it. To cheap
not to. Ultimately i want to keep as much
foreign stuff off these machines as
possible.
