I have a small in engine that I think came from a baler. Is there a sure method of identifying it so that I can buy vs let's etc.

(quoted from post at 19:22:34 04/05/18) Probably a C60 (flathead) Cub engine.Or could be a C113(overhead valve) 'A' engine.
y engine is an overhead valve 4 cylinder similar to one in a 55 bale r I had a few years back.

#55 baler used IH C-113 ohv engine like an A, B, or C tractor did, with a right angle gearbox on the
bellhousing and about 5 inch wide flat pulley about 6-7 inches in diameter. A #50 baler used the C-60 and
was really underpowered in my opinion.

Lots and lots of days in my youth spent at one end or the other of a 55-T baler. Started driving tractor
on the baler when I was 7 yrs old, and riding the rack when I was about 12. If the knotters cooperated
two men and a small boy could get 1000 BIG bales done after lunch in time to do chores and still get to a
little league ball game.
